Lee Frecklington battling to be fit for Sheffield Wednesday showdown

Rotherham will monitor the fitness of skipper Lee Frecklington for the televised visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

The midfielder injured his knee and calf during the Millers' 1-0 defeat to Fulham on Saturday, which condemned them to relegation.

Striker Danny Ward is doubtful due to a knock sustained against Fulham and defender Ben Purrington is expected to shake off a dead leg, while midfielder Tom Adeyemi is out with a calf injury.

Joe Mattock, a former Wednesday player, is expected to come back into the team after completing a two-match suspension.

Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri is hoping to be back in contention after missing the last three games due to a knee injury.

But Almen Abdi will play no further part this season after undergoing knee surgery and fellow midfielder Sam Hutchinson will miss out after sustaining a calf injury in Saturday's derby draw at Barnsley.

Ross Wallace has shaken off the knock which kept him out for two matches and fit-again striker Gary Hooper (hamstring) is also pushing for a start.

Defender Vincent Sasso serves the final game of this three-match ban as the Owls chase their first win in five matches.
