Millers to make changes for Morecambe clash

Rotherham are likely to make changes for their EFL Cup clash with Morecambe.

The Millers opened their Championship campaign with a 2-2 draw against Wolves on Saturday, but Lee Frecklington (calf) and Joe Mattock (knee) came off while Kirk Broadfoot (hamstring) also struggled.

All three could miss out against the League Two outfit while boss Alan Stubbs may also want to take a look at some of his players who were not involved against Wolves.

Midfielder Scott Allan will be eyeing a start along with defender Kelvin Wilson.

Morecambe will be without midfielder Aaron Wildig for the trip.

Wildig, who worked his way back to fitness during pre-season, limped out of the opening-day defeat by Grimsby after a heavy challenge and has a bruised and swollen ankle.

Summer signing Dean Winnard missed out on that game with a knee injury and is again unlikely to feature.

Captain Peter Murphy also has a knee problem that will keep him sidelined until October.
