Rotherham ready for Steve Evans return

Rotherham hope to continue their fight against Sky Bet Championship relegation when former boss Steve Evans makes his first return to the club.

Evans, who left the Millers in September, brings Leeds to New York Stadium and will come up against a side in a rich vein of form having taken 16 points from 18 games.

Neil Warnock will have been grateful for the international break in order to allow several injured players to regain their fitness.

Richard Wood (hamstring), Danny Ward (back), Frazer Richardson (hamstring) and Jerome Thomas (calf) are all hoping to be in contention.

Evans will check on Mustapha Carayol, who is scheduled to return from international duty with Gambia on Friday.

Defender Liam Cooper, an unused substitute in Scotland's win against Denmark, has shaken off the hamstring strain that has kept him out of the last three matches and is in contention.

Liam Bridcutt (Scotland) and fellow midfielder Lewis Cook (England Under-19s) have also reported back from international duty in good shape.

Striker Chris Wood (hamstring), who has stepped off the bench in the last two games, is pushing for his first start since January as Leeds bid to bounce back from their 4-1 home defeat to Huddersfield before the international break.
