Danny Ward and Jerome Thomas could return for Rotherham

Rotherham hope to have Danny Ward and Jerome Thomas back for their final home game of the season against Blackburn.

Ward (calf) and Thomas (illness) both missed last week's 0-0 draw at Wolves which guaranteed the club's place in the Sky Bet Championship for another season but will be eyeing a return at New York Stadium.

Midfielder Joe Newell will play no part, though, as he underwent ankle surgery on Monday and is done for the season.

Lloyd Doyley is also out for the last two games of the campaign after the veteran defender went under the knife on a knee problem.

Blackburn travel to the game in a state of turmoil following manager Paul Lambert's announcement that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Lambert, who has decided to activate a release clause in his contract, is still expected to take charge for his side's penultimate game of a disappointing season.

Craig Conway will be pushing to return to the starting line-up after having to settle for a place on the bench for last week's draw against Bristol City.

And Tommy Spurr is also hoping to make an appearance before the end of the season after making a good recovery from an Achilles injury.
