Semi Ajayi rescues point for Millers

Semi Ajayi struck deep into stoppage time to earn 10-man Rotherham a deserved point from a 1-1 draw with Plymouth.

The Millers, who had Richard Wood sent off early in the second half, looked like slipping to a fourth successive home defeat when old boy Ryan Taylor put Argyle ahead in the 82nd minute, only for Ajayi to scramble home in the third minute of time added on.

Rotherham had bossed the first half, but struggled to break down a Plymouth side who defended with 10 men behind the ball. The best chance fell to Ryan Williams, who burst clear down the left but he saw his shot well smothered by Kelle Roos.

The game changed five minutes after the restart when Millers skipper Wood saw red for his second yellow card, but the hosts continued to look the more likely as Anthony Forde ghosted into the area but he was again closed down by Roos.

Finally Argyle showed some ambition and after Millers goalkeeper Marek Rodak had saved Lionel Ainsworth's effort they went in front with eight minutes remaining.

Taylor, who played 152 times for the Millers, got in front of his marker from a corner and flashed a header into the near post for his second goal of the season.

But Ajayi earned a point deep into time added on when he smashed home after a goalmouth scramble.
