Raynes over the moon to sign

Defender Michael Raynes had no problems leaving Scunthorpe to sign for the Millers on a two year deal when he heard of boss Andy Scott's interest. The 6ft 3 inch centre half signed on the dotted line earlier today after leaving Glanford Park with a year to run on his contract for an undisclosed fee. And he had no problems linking up with former team mates Johnny Mullins, Conrad Logan, Jason Taylor and Adam Le Fondre. He explained to the clubs website: "I'm delighted to be here. This is a massive club and I know a lot of the lads here. "When the opportunity arose for me to sign, I was over the moon. I've been promoted from this league in the past and I want another medal. "I class myself as an old school centre half.I'll head it and kick it, but I try to play out from the back as well." Raynes started as a youth trainee at Stockport and played over 130 games for the club, scoring 6 times and helping them to promotion in 2008. He leaves Scunthorpe after 37 appearances for the Iron and is available to play in the Millers game with Oxford tomorrow.
