Prings happy to feel wanted

Midfielder Ben Pringle says he's flattered by speculation linking him with a move to Reading, but insists the scouts could be watching a number of lads in the Millers side...

Despite reported interest in various media outlets, Pringle says he's just happy to have been given the opportunity to play regularly in the Millers first team by boss Steve Evans after being previously frozen out by former manager Andy Scott - the man that signed him.

The 24 year-old explains to the Press Association: "It's good to know that I am getting linked with those kinds of teams, whether it is true or not I don't know.

"I just try and play the best football I can, but going on Saturday's performance (against Gillingham), if it is true it won't just be me they are watching, there are eight or nine players they could pick from who could easily play at a higher level.

"I don't know whether there is any truth in the Reading thing or not, but it is nice to hear that I am wanted here, which wasn't the case before. The manager has just given me the opportunity. The old manager didn't give me that, I always believed I was good enough to play at this level.

"Obviously he (Steve Evans) takes the credit because he put me in the side, but I like I say the old manager didn't give me the opportunity."
