Pringle could take the league by storm - Evans

Despite significantly strengthening his midfield in pre-season, boss Steve Evans says Ben Pringle will have a massive role to play in the Millers promotion push.

Speaking to the clubs website as part of his regular Gaffer on a Sunday feature, Evans is hoping a sharp and match fit Pringle will shine next season alongside new signings Michael O'Connor and Kari Arnason.

"Prings is very talented. Since I came to Rotherham United there has been some days when he has been sensational in training and I do not say that without thinking it through. He will be as good as he wants to be because we will let him express his talents but in a team structure", said the gaffer.

"Ben has a cultured left foot, his technique is outstanding and he can see a pass before many others have even considered it. He is brave in and out of possession, he has great awareness and his final ball at times is brilliant, however, we need more of it.

"We need to work hard with him to get him to our designated fitness and sharpness levels. He spent a lot of time last season sitting in the stands so he was never going to be as match fit or sharp as he needed to be when his chance came to play. This lad has all the ability to take League Two by storm next season.

"It is my opinion that he is very capable of playing at a higher level but you have to ignite the level you are working at to deserve the opportunity to play higher. He could be a very important player for us and one person will decide whether he wants it enough; Ben Pringle himself."
