Goalkeepers:Michael PokeDate of Birth 21/11/1985.Height 6'6"Michael Poke is on his third loan spell from Southampton, which has just been has been extended to the end of the season. A brave and determined goal-keeper, Michael has a good attitude to the game and puts the hours in on the training ground. He has made the No1 spot his own this season. Poke is struggling with a groin injury and Scott Bevan stands by to play.Scott BevanDate of Birth: 19/09/1979.Height: 6' 6."Scott made the move to Torquay from Shrewsbury Town in September 2008 initially on loan the move was made permanent in Dec 2009. He came as cover for injured first choice keeper Michael Poke. Scott has also played for MK Dons, Kidderminster, Shrewsbury, and Tamworth. Defenders: MillersMAD's One to WatchGuy Branston (Psycho)Date of Birth: 09/01/1979 Height: 6' 1Well what's to be said; Guy established his career at Rotherham after being signed for £50,000 from Leicester City in 1999, and was part of two successive promotions with the Millers in his first two years with the club. In the 2004/05 season he moved to Sheff Wednesday, after a loan spell at Peterborough he joined Oldham Athletic for one season, and then returned to Peterborough on loan. In February 2008, Branston joined Conference National side Kettering Town on an 18 month deal, being assigned the captain's role. Branston signed for Burton Albion on 16 July, 2009. Branston was sent off three times in his short Burton Albion career, taking his total career tally to 18 red cards. He joins the Gulls on loan until the end of the season. Guy took the Man Of The Match award in the Gulls last game against Port Vale.Adam SmithThe 18yr old Signed is on loan from Tottenham. Adam has played in league one, having been at Wycombe for a month. He can play either side of the defence, right or left back, and gives the Gulls cover at the back.Mo CamaraDate of Birth: 25/06/1975 Height: 5' 11Camara was released by St Mirren last month and the Gulls snapped up the 34yrold defender on a contract to the end of the season. Camara was brought to Plainmoor as defensive cover as on-loan Tottenham teenager Sam Cox has been recalled by his parent club. Camara has plenty of experience having played for St Mirren, Celtic, Norwich City, Blackpool (loan), Burnley, Wolves, Norwich City (loan), Le Havre, Derby County. Mo went straight into the line-up against Port Vale in the Gulls last match.Kevin NicholsonDate of Birth: 02/10/1980Height: 5' 8. Kevin started out started out as a trainee with Sheffield Wednesday, An experienced left-back; he has missed few games since signing from Forest Green Rovers. In 2007 he was called up to the England 'C' squad for the Home Internationals. He is a dead ball specialist. Previous clubs, Scarborough, Scarborough (loan), Forest Green (loan), Northampton, Forest Green, Notts County (loan), Sheffield Wed, and Notts County. Chris RobertsonDate of Birth: 11/10/1986Height: 6' 3"Chris is just as happy at right back or centre defence. He came on loan from Sheff Utd towards the end of the 2006/07 season, before signing a permanent contract in the summer of 2007, much to the delight of many united fans.Kieran CharnockHeight: 6' 1" Date of Birth: 03/08/1984 Charnock picked up a Red card at Shrewsbury, and despite an appeal he will miss the match against the Millers. He began his career at Wigan Athletic, coming through the clubs youth system. Following a successful loan in the 2008/09 season with Accrington Stanley, he moved to Torquay at the start of the subsequent season.Mark EllisDate of Birth: 30/09/1988Height: 6' 2 Mark is expected to return to the starting eleven, with Charnock missing the game through suspension. A local lad Mark started his career at Exeter City. He impressed enough as a youth player for Bolton Wanderers to sign him. He joined The Gulls on loan last season, and after some solid performances at center back he was offered a full-time contract this summer. Chris ToddDate of Birth: 22/08/1981Height: 6' 1A transfer fee of £7,500 brought Chris from Exeter City to Plainmoor at the start of the 2007/08 season. Chris started his career at his home-town club Swansea City. He moved to Exeter in the 2003/04 season, making 150 appearances for the Grecians. Chris proved a big hit in his first season at Plainmoor with his no nonsense approach and the knack of scoring the odd goal when needed and has battled serious illness. Chris has joined Newport County on loan until the end of the season. Lathaniel Rowe-TurnerDate of Birth: 12/11/1989Height: 6' 1"Lathaniel signed in January transfer window from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee. The 20-year-old rose through the youth ranks at Leicester but never made an appearance for the first team. Lathaniel has had loan spells with Cheltenham as well as non-league sides Redditch United and King's Lynn.Midfielders: Wayne CarlisleHeight 5' 7"Wayne has led an up and down career due to injury. Starting his career at Crystal Palace and, after a loan spell at Swindon, moved on to establish himself at Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient and Exeter City where, after impressing, he broke his leg playing against Tamworth. He was released at the end of the 2005/06 season but was re-signed in October 2006 by new Exeter boss Paul Tisdale. He is primarily a wide midfield player but is capable of filling a variety of roles and Paul Buckle was delighted to secure his services instead of him re-signing for Exeter in the close season. Danny StevensDate of Birth: 26/11/1986Height: 5' 10"Danny was released by Luton Town May 2007, after finding first team opportunities limited. After a trial with the Gulls he was offered a one year contract, and has gone on to become a fans favorite. He signed a new contract last season and after making an amazingly quick recovery from a knee injury played a part in United's F.A. Trophy final defeat against Ebbsfleet.Tyrone ThompsonDate of Birth: 08/05/1982Height: 5' 9"Tyrone started his career with his home town club Sheffield United as a trainee. In the 2004/05 season he made the move to Scarborough and became a regular in their starting line-up. He signed for the Gulls this summer after having played for Halifax Town and Crawley and racking up over 150 overall career appearances.Lee MansellDate of Birth: 23/09/1982Height: 5' 9"Lee made his Football League debut for Luton Town at the age of just 18, and scored 5 goals from 17 starts in his first season .Later moving to Oxford United he was a near ever-present in Oxford's relegation season of 2005/06. Lee is a popular player with the fans and pleased them by signing a new contract in the summer. Mansell is a genuine "box to box" player.Nicky WroeDate of Birth: 28/09/1985Height: 5' 11"Nicky's a midfielder who likes to get forward; he made 40 appearances for York last season. He started his career at Barnsley, spending five years at the Yorkshire club. After a brief stay at Hamilton, he made the move to York. Paul Buckle made him an offer to join the Gulls in May this year. Nicky has settled in scoring 5 goals this season from midfield.Eunan O'KaneDate of Birth: 10/07/1990O'Kane was signed in January until the end of the season from Coleraine, after he impressed during a trial at Plainmoor. The Northern Irishman only joined Coleraine last August when Everton failed to renew his contract after two seasons at Goodison Park. Jake ThomsonDate of Birth: 12/05/1988Height: 5'11'jJake has just had his three month loan from Portsmouth extended to the end of the season. In January 2009 Thomson spent one month on loan to Bournemouth from Portsmouth and although the clubs wanted to extend the loan by a further month, this was refused by the Football League.Strikers:Chris ZebroskiDate of Birth 29/10/1986Height: 6' 1" Another player signed on loan Friday from Wycombe Wanderers,and also in line to face the Millers. Previously scoring 19 times in one season for Torquay attracted the attention of Peter Taylor who took him to Adams Park for £20,000. He returns on a month's loan with the possibility of it being made a permanent signing in January. We were thinking they look a bit light up front..then they go and do this!Ashley BarnesDate of Birth: 30/10/1989Height: 6' 0"Barnes signed from Plymouth last week on-loan until the end of the season. The Gulls signed him as cover for the injured Scott Rendell. Ashley has made seven appearances for the Pilgrims in the Championship this season, scoring once against Reading in December. Tim SillsDate of Birth: 10/09/1979Height: 6' 2"Tim is last season's top scorer with 16 goals from 46 starts. He was playing conference football with Aldershot in 2003 and proved a big hit with 46 goals in 112 appearances. Tim moved into full-time football with Oxford and Hereford but his spells at the two clubs didn't prove as successful as his time at Aldershot. Paul Buckle showed his interest in Tim and he signed for the Gulls in June 2007.Elliot BenyonDate of Birth: 29/08/1987Height: 5' 9"Elliot is a quick forward who has shown a poachers instinct. He started his career at Bristol City and had two very impressive loan spells at Crawley Town and St Albans during the 2006/07. Elliot will be looking to force his way into the starting line-up after some very impressive displays off the bench last season. Elliot scored Torquay's goal in their last game the 1-2 defeat to Port Vale. Scott RendellDate of Birth: 21/10/1986Height: 6' 1"Scott is a hard-working tall centre forward. While at Cambridge United a six-figure bid from Peterborough United was rejected for Scott, but he submitted a written transfer request and was reluctantly allowed to leave initially on loan, with a permanent deal agreed for the end of the season. However his first team chances were limited as the Peterborough front line proved prolific on their way to promotion to League 1, and in November 2008.Now at Plainmoor he has managed a couple of goals from 8 appearances 4 from the bench. Rendell has missed the last few matches having broken his arm in the home defeat by Bradford City, and looks likely to miss the game.
