MillersMAD's Look at who the Daggers might field against the Millers tonight at Don Valley. For the Daggers last match a 0-1 loss at home to Northamton, the Daggers team was. Roberts, Doe, Arber, McCory, Currie, Ogogo, Pack, Gain, Nurse, Benson, Thomas. Subs Green, Scott, Vincelot, Bingham, Tejan-Sie, Lewington, Walsh. Goalkeepers: Tony Roberts. Date of Birth: 04/08/1969 Height: 6' 0" Tony began his career as a trainee at QPR and played 122 League games in his eleven years there earning a testimonial in 2003 against Charlton Athletic. After a season at Millwall, where a finger injury a finger injury forced him to accept an insurance payout and move into the Semi-pro game with St Albans City for six months in 1999. Tony came across a splint which fitted on his finger and allowed him to continue playing. He moved to daggers in the 1999/00 season, and has been a more or less ever present between the sticks making him the clubs record appearance holder.Chris Lewington. Chris signed from Fisher Athletic in August 2009 on a free transfer. Chris has been on the bench but has yet to be called upon.Defenders:Scott Doe. Date of Birth: 06/11/1988 Height:6' 1 Scott joined the Daggers on a two and a half year contract in March 2009 He was signed by John Still after Doe was released from his contract at Weymouth, due to the financial troubles at the club, where he had been the Clubs player of the year.Mark Arber Club Captain.Date of Birth: 09/10/1977 Height: 6' 1" Mark's career started at Tottenham, where he made just the one appearance before joining Barnet in 1998, going on to make 175 appearances. In 2002 he was transferred to Peterborough United for £75,000, where he made 101 appearances. He joined the Daggers o loan in January 2007 and helped them win the Nationwide Conference. After returning to Peterborough he signed a one-year contract with Stevenage Borough but half way through that spell he rejoined the Daggers on loan until the end of last season. In July 2008 Mark signed a one-year deal with the Daggers.Will Antwi. Date of Birth: 19/10/1982 Height: 6' 2 " Antwi prefers to play in the centre of defence but can operate in midfield. Will's football career started as a trainee at Crystal Palace where he became a professional player. After a brief spell in Sweden with Ljungskile SK, returned to England with Football Conference side Aldershot Town. Will joined Wycombe Wanderers in the summer of 2005, making just 42 appearances in his three seasons at the club, due to injuries. Antwi was released by Wycombe on 6 May 2009 and signed for Dagenham and Redbridge on a two year contract. An ankle injury rules him out of the game.Matt Lockwood. Date of Birth: 17/10/1976 Height: 5' 11" Lockwood began his career at Queens Park Rangers as a trainee in 1995 but made his first professional impact at Bristol Rovers where he made 58 appearances until the end of the 1997/98 season. Matt then moved to Leyton Orient on a free transfer, and in the in the 2006/7 season he became leading scorer with 11 goals despite playing at left-back all season. In 2007 Matt signed a two year contract at Nottingham Forest. He signed for Colchester United for an undisclosed fee in June 2008. Romain Vincelot. Date of Birth: 29/10/1985 Height: 5'10'' Dagenham signed the French left-back on an 18 month loan in January. He started his career with Chamois Niortais, where he made 46 league appearances in four years. He moved to FC Gueugnon in 2008 and played 20 league games for the side during the 2008-09 campaign. He was released by the club in the summer of 2009 and spent the following six months without a team before signing for Dagenham & Redbridge on 22 January 2009Tom Tejan-Sie. Date of Birth: 23/11/1988 Height: 5' 6 Tom made his Football League debut against Exeter City in the 2-1 home defeat, on 20 January 2009. Tom is a product of the Dagenham's reserve side where he has made some outstanding performances. Yet to start for the first team.Damien McCrory. Date of Birth: 22/02/1990 Height: 6' 2" Daggers signed Damien McCrory on a two-and-a-half year deal from Plymouth Argyle, for an undisclosed five-figure sum in the January transfer window. The former Republic of Ireland Under-19 international has been out on loan this term with both Port Vale and Grimsby. He signed as a professional for Plymouth in 2008 having come through the club's junior ranks. Damien plays left-back.Midfielders:Danny Green. Date of Birth: 09/07/1988 Height: unknown. Danny joined the Daggers from Bishops Stortford. The right-winger began his career with Northampton Town coming through their youth academy before joining the Blue Square South side in 2008. Numerous outstanding performances persuaded Daggers boss John Still to make him the Clubs first signing of the 2009 close season. Dane Currie. Date of Birth: 29/11/1974 Height: 5' 11" Darren is the nephew of Sheff Utd's Tony Currie. began his career as a trainee at West Ham United in 1993 but did not play for the first-team. He had a loan spell at Leyton Orient before joining Shrewsbury Town in February 1996 for a transfer fee of £70,000. Darren played for Plymouth before moving on to Barnet where at the end of the 2000-01 season, he left and joined Wycombe Wanderers for a transfer fee of £200,000. At the end of the 2003/04 season he left by mutual consent having made over 140 appearances for the club. He joined Brighton after impressing in pre-season. Three months later he moved to Ipswich for £250,000. Currie took in spells at Derby, and Luton before signing for the Spireites. He joined the Daggers on loan in November.Peter Gain. Date of Birth: 11/11/1976 Height: 5' 9 Peter started his career at Tottenham Hotspur where he worked his way up to reserve level. Following a three month loan spell at Lincoln City, he moved to Sincil Bank permanently in March 1999 for a fee of £15,000. He made 195 League appearances for the imps then joined Peterborough United during the 2005 close season where he made 69 starts for the London Road side. Peter joined Dagenham from Peterborough on an 18 month deal during the January 2008 transfer window. His ability to hold onto the ball in midfield and play balls through to the strikers is his main asset. Peter signed an extension to his contract in May 2009 to keep him at the Club until May 2011Stuart Thurgood. Date of Birth: 02/07/1983 Height: 5' 7 Stuart started out as a youth at Tottenham Hotspur before joining Steve Perryman at Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse. Stuart returned home in 2001 and signed for Southend United where he made 79 Football League appearances in three years. In 2004 he moved to Grays Athletic making 157 appearances, before a move to Gillingham, firstly on loan, then made permanent in January 2008. He returned to Grays on loan last season and signed a two year deal with the Daggers in Jul 2009. Thurgood looks as though he will miss the game with a knee injury.Strikers: Jon Nurse. Date of Birth: 01/03/1981 Height: 5' 9" Jon's career his career started at Sutton United. Stevenage Borough signed him in 2004, but injuries hampered him and he spent a spell at Lewes on loan to regain his match fitness. He signed for Dagenham in the 2007 close season. Although not a prolific goal scorer he has forged a partnership with whoever he has played in the forward line with and has proved has also played at right back and the right side of midfield. 2009 saw Jon signing a new one-year deal with the Daggers.Marlon Pack. Date of Birth: 25/03/1991 Height: 6' 2" Marlon has just had his loan from Portsmouth extended for another month. Pack originally joined the League Two club in early January and he has made four appearances for to date. He has yet to make a first-team appearance for Portsmouth, but featured nine times while on loan at Wycombe Wanderers earlier in the season.MillersMAD One to Watch. Paul Benson. Date of Birth: 12/10/1979 Height: 6' 1" Paul was spotted by John Still playing in the Essex Intermediate league with White Ensign where he scored 96 goals in two years. He had a two-week trial at Southend United but before they could offer him any further trials he opted to sign a contract with Dagenham & Redbridge in July 2005. Unfortunately he broke his leg but returned to the team in the last few games of the season. Paul was troubled by injury throughout last season but still finished as the Club's top scorer. Paul is now fully fit and has played 30 games this season, netting 13 goalsJosh Scott. Date of birth 10/5/1985 Josh a highly rated striker signed a three-year contract with the Daggers in July 2009. He started out at Hayes & Yeading, scoring 79 goals in 177 appearances. His first season in the Football League has got off well with him scoring 7 goals in 18 appearances for the Daggers.Wes Thomas. Date of Birth: 23/01/1987 Height: 5' 2" Wesley signed for the Daggers on a three year contract on September 1st 2008 from Blue Square South Fisher Athletic. He made his daggers debut in the 2-0 victory at Rochdale in October 2008. Wes spent some time on loan to Grays Athletic last season netting 2 goals in 7 outings, before being recalled. This season he has had limited chances in the team, starting just 2 games most other games being on the bench, still he has chipped in with 3 goals. Phil Walsh. Walsh joined the Daggers on a two and a half year deal from Dorchester for a small fee. The 25-year-old, scored four goals for the Blue Square South side this season. Walsh, is the son of former Bristol City legend Alan Walsh. Phil started his career at Hellenic Premier Division Almondsbury, going on to play for Newport County, Bath City, Tiverton and then Dorchester.Jon Nurse. Date of Birth: 01/03/1981 Height: 5' 9" Nurse started out playing in Sunday league football before joining local club Sutton United. Nurse attracted the attention of a few clubs, and moved to Stevenage Borough in 2004. He had a couple of periods out on loan while at Stevenage with Lewes and Woking, scoring goals at both clubs. Nurse was called up to represent Barbados and went on to play 55 minutes of their World Cup qualifying match in Dominica on the 16 February 2008. He signed for Dagenham in May 2007.
