Since his return to the first team, Daniel Nardiello's goals have put the Millers back in the frame for promotion. Gaffer Steve Evans sang his praises.

Speaking in todays Advertiser, Steve Evans explains why he left the Millers top scorer Daniel Nardiello out of the team and now expects him to go on and help push the Millers to promotion.

Nard's scored a brace in the 2-1 at Acrington midweek with the gaffer saying;  “He’s been great for us since he came back, His goals-to-games ratio has been fantastic for us. But we took him out of the team because he hadn’t been working hard enough on the pitch or on the training ground. Whether you are Nardiello or anyone else if you don’t put the effort in and don’t look like you want to play for Rotherham United then you’re not going to play."

“When we took him out he was poor, but for the last three weeks he’s been excellent and he really can be an important part of what we want to achieve. We’ve got a lot of players we hope will come back fit in the next three or four weeks and when they do we’ll have a squad that we’ll be happy to take into the second half of the season with one or two additions.”
