Mulls makes Millers return

Steve Evans says that Johnny Mullins recall is due to a deal that fell through for a Championship defender on Monday.

With a crippling injury list, Mullins has been recalled from his loan at Oxford United today with the Millers having just one fit centre back in Ian Sharps for Saturdays trip to Exeter.

Gaffer Evans explained to the clubs website: "Following my meeting this morning with the chairman I have had sanctioned a number of proposals which include the immediate recalling of Mulls from Oxford. “This was a consideration earlier this week until we had in place an agreement with a Championship club to sign an experienced central defender. However, that fell through when the player was injured in a practice match on Monday morning.”

Mullins is free to play in the Millers FA Cup tie with Notts County.

MillersMAD also understands midfielder Danny Schofield may return early from his loan at Accrington to provide cover.
