Moore "not close" to new striker

Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore has expressed his frustration at the lack of success in his quest for a new striker. With Tom Pope and Ryan Taylor sidelined for the first few months of the season and on-loan Tom Elliott nursing a hamstring problem, Moore has been left with just Adam Le Fondre as the only fit out-and-out striker on the books at Don Valley. Moore approached all Premier League, Championship and League One clubs in attempt to find a striker but his attempts have proved fruitless, leaving him cutting a frustrated figure. "We are still looking but we are not close to getting anyone at the moment," he said. "We could get a kid from the Premier League but I think what we need is someone with a little bit of experience but it is difficult. We will keep knocking on doors and sooner or later one will open."
