Moore mystified by Newey red card

Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore admitted he was puzzled how his side failed to collect all three points and mystified by the sending off of full-back Tom Newey after a 0-0 draw with Barnet. The Millers had to settle for a draw after a disappointing second half performance severely dented their promotion hopes. After totally dominating the first 45 minutes, Moore saw Newey sent off in controversial fashion for pushing Izale McLeod. Moore said: "When you are on top you have got to punish them, but we didn't do that. "We played some good stuff in the first half but the sending off was a joke really. The linesman said that Newey had thrown a punch. He was trying to get the ball off the lad, that was all he was trying to do. "I hope they have a look at it because it was right in front of me. If I had seen him throw a punch then I would have fined him, but I just could not see any reason why he was sent off. "You expect the officials to get it right. The linesman was only 10 yards away, the referee hasn't seen anything, and then he tells him that he has thrown a punch, which he hasn't."
