Milsom signed an 18 month deal this week to keep him at the New York Stadium until the end of next season, having initially signed until the January transfer window to prove his long term fitness.
"He's a top player and a terrific lad," Evans told the club's website. "He's kept himself injury free and been absolutely outstanding. There's been once or twice when he's dipped but we have as a team.
"We've got to be a bit careful with him because he's not had a lot of football due to injury but with a helping hand from Denis Circuit we're looking after him to ensure he's fresh on matchdays.”
