Millers want that second place - Revs

Despite not yet securing promotion going into the final day, the Millers still have an eye on second placed Port Vale, says striker Alex Revell.

A win over Aldershot tomorrow would guarantee a place in League One, and if Port Vale fail to win away at Wycombe the Millers would also take the runners-up spot behind Champions Gillingham.

And after signing a new two year deal last week, Revell says that spot is the target to aim for.

Speaking to the Advertiser, he said: “We want to finish second and by the end of the game the only way to know for sure that you're up is to win and we'll be doing everything we can to try and do that. If we can carry on the way we have been playing with that togetherness we've had, it will be a great end.

“We've discovered what it takes at the moment and I don't think anyone would have seen us going to Bradford and Plymouth and winning.

“This is the time to do it; it's the business end and you have seen what happens when we play as a team. If you look at the 18 players involved at Plymouth, the squad is excellent. I think we deserve to go up.”

He added: “We have to do it this weekend and we have to keep believing. It might be better that Aldershot have something to play for. Sometimes if you play against a side with nothing but you need a win, it is hard. They are going to have to go for it.

“The ground will be absolutely packed and the fans will be behind us like they have been all season. The support helped us on Saturday and we're going to need it again.”
