Millers suffer Taylor blow

Rotherham's pre-season preparations have suffered a major blow with news that striker Ryan Taylor faces several months on the sidelines with a broken metatarsal. The 21-year-old frontman, who scored two goals in the Millers' play-off final defeat at Wembley last term, suffered the injury in training last week and X-rays confirmed a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot. With Taylor not expected to feature before December and fellow striker Tom Pope still sidelined with a foot injury of his own, boss Ronnie Moore has only two fit strikers on his books ahead of the new campaign and one of those - Adam Le Fondre - has continually been linked with a move away from the club. "I'm absolutely gutted for the lad and also frustrated that this type of injury has happened to one of our players again," Moore told the club's official website. "He has broken the metatarsal in his little toe which is the worse one in terms of recovery time. Hopefully he will be back in training around mid-November. "With just Le Fondre and Paul Warne being our only fit strikers we are trying extremely hard to bring in a loan replacement with the same qualities and attributes as Ryan."
