Striker Jeremiah Ani has left Rotherham after his one-month contract with the club expired. The Nigerian-born forward initially signed on trial after impressing the Millers' coaching staff with an eye-catching performance in the pre-season friendly against Tamworth. Rotherham's chief operating officer Paul Douglas said: "We would like to thank Jerry for his efforts while with the club. "He's been a model professional while he's been here, but due to the return to fitness of Tom Pope and Ryan Taylor the club were not in a position to offer Jerry another deal." Ani signed a month-long contract and made his debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Lincoln, but has since found it difficult to break into the starting line-up.
