Millers miss out on Abbott

30 July 2010 13:28
As the injuries stack up for the Millers, boss Ronnie Moore is dealt another blow by missing out on the signature of striker Pawel Abbott. Abbott, born to a Polish mother and an English father began his footballing career as a youth player at ŁKS Łódź. He had been with Oldham since June 2009 after signing a two year deal, where he had scored 13 goals in 38 appearances.Moore told the Advertiser this week: "We had a call saying Oldham were going to let him go but Charlton have offered £75,000 for him, with a substantial wage increase. "It's disappointing. He's had his injury problems over the years but he played 38 times last season and scored 13 goals. "We'll just have to keep searching because we need an experienced striker who can blend with Adam Le Fondre."
