Millers finally confirm Cresswell deal

Rotherham have finally completed the signing of centre half Ryan Cresswell on a 2 year deal, MillersMAD can confirm. As we first reported earlier last week, the 22 year-old Swinton born defender was hotly tipped to join up with his home town club after becoming available. His contract at Bury had expired but he turned down the chance of an extension at Gigg Lane, where he was managed by former Millers boss and player Alan Knill and agreed terms with the Millers.Cresswell spent time on loan with the club in 2007, playing not only as a centre half but as an emergency striker and will cost the club a compensation fee as he is under 23.He is expected to play a key part in the role vacated by Ian Sharps' move to Shrewsbury Town. We wish Ryan every success in his time with the club.Ryan Cresswell InformationDate of birthTuesday, 22nd December 1987Height6.2Place of birthRotherham, EnglandWeight11.6NationalityEnglishPositionDefenceCommentsSquad No.Recent Career History By Club (1999 onwards)TeamDebutApps (+ sub)GoalsYellowsRedsBury09 Aug 200849 (10)152Macclesfield Town12 Jan 200819 (0)110Morecambe03 Nov 20072 (0)000Rotherham United29 Sep 20072 (2)010Halifax (liquidated 2008)17 Feb 200715 (1)020Recent Career History By Season (1999 onwards)SeasonFirst App.Apps (+ sub)GoalsYellowsReds2009/201022 Aug 200927 (4)0312008/200909 Aug 200822 (6)1212007/200829 Sep 200723 (2)1202006/200717 Feb 200715 (1)020Appearances 87 (+ 13 as sub); Goals 2; Yellow cards 9; Red cards 2 Welcome to MillersMadHere's our LATEST Messageboard topics MillersMAD are proud sponsors of Dale Tonges home kit
