Millers facing injury woe

Rotherham have selection problems ahead of their npower League Two opener with Lincoln at Don Valley. Defender Dale Tonge and striker Ryan Taylor are nursing metatarsal injuries sustained in pre-season while new signing Johnny Mullins is also struggling with a hamstring injury picked up shortly after joining the club. Striker Tom Pope has not recovered from a foot injury that curtailed his involvement at the back end of last season, while Nick Fenton and new signing Mark Bradley are struggling with injuries picked up in training. Manager Ronnie Moore is likely to hand debuts to defenders Ryan Cresswell, Dean Holden and Tom Newey, midfielder Exodus Geohaghon and striker Tom Elliott, with Marcus Marshall, who has signed a permanent contract following last season's loan spell, set to be on the bench. The Millers' promotion bid fell at the final hurdle last season with a play-off final defeat to Dagenham at Wembley and as they enter a fourth season in the bottom tier a rise to League One will be seen as a must for Moore's men. The game against the Imps sees a repeat of the opening game of the 2008/09 campaign, which the Millers won 1-0.
