Rotherham are understood to be close to agreeing personal terms with Northern Ireland midfielder Michael O'Connor.

The 24 year-old former Crewe player, who has 10 International caps, has reportedly turned down a new deal with League One Scunthorpe and has been shown around the New York Stadium by Millers boss Steve Evans.

It is hoped personal terms can be finalised in the next few days and there will be no fee for the player.

Evans also confirmed yesterday that his sixth summer signing could be pushed through today, with a winger at the top of the agenda.
