Liddell hoping to earn longer deal

Manager Mark Robins drafted the 36-year-old into his squad on a one-month deal to compensate for the loss of Reuben Reid to West Brom. But the former Barnsley and Wigan playmaker has set his sights on impressing his manager sufficiently to secure a longer stay at the Don Valley Stadium. "If I do well then hopefully Rotherham will extend my contract, if I don't do well it's down to me," he told BBC Radio Sheffield. Liddell is in line to turn out for the Millers in their season-opener with Accrington on Saturday.
