Le Fondre - I won't be signing a new deal

07 January 2011 07:42
Negotiations between the Millers andstriker Adam Le Fondre have come to an end for the time being with the striker not wanting a longer contract with the Millers restricting him. The Millers have long been trying to tie the 24 year old down to a longer contract after his amazing goalscoring exploits for the Millers well and truly put him in the shop window.Chief operating officer Paul Douglas told the Advertiser; "We want to keep Adam and we initiated talks to see if it was possible. They were very amicable but the reality is that, while Adam enjoys his football here, he is an ambitious lad.""He wants to keep his options open beyond the 18 months he has left with us and both our chairman Tony Stewart and manager Ronnie Moore respect that. We would like to sit down with him again in the summer."With the transfer window reopen for the month, the media are yet again rife with rumours of incoming bids, however Alfie will take it in his stride; "I've had transfer speculation since the first three months I've been here and it's never really stopped. It's never bothered me and it won't this week or next week." he said."I won't be signing a new deal but I'm happy here. I'll just carry on playing my game and helping the team. Personally I feel I've done good work while I've been here and I'd like to see that come to fruition." he added.Welcome to MillersMadHere's our LATEST Messageboard topics MillersMAD are proud sponsors of Miller Bear's home kit
