I've made the right move - Kayode

Speaking in the 'Tiser, striker Kayode Odejayi speaks about the move from Colchester to the Millers

The 27 year old made the move north after rejecting a new deal at Colchester United where he's just been awarded the player of the year award.

He admitted to the 'Tiser that he found the move hard, but says he's done the right thing; "It was a really tough decision, with pros and cons to consider either way, but having chatted at length with my partner, I feel I've made the right decision. She is from this neck of the woods, we are getting married in the summer, we plan to try for children in the not too distant future and it will be better for her to be around her close family when that happens."

“The move had to be right on the football front as well and I believe that it is a great time to be joining Rotherham. “The new stadium is all but built and the club wants to be back in a higher division or two in the near future. Hopefully, I'll help them achieve that.”

Gaffer Steve Evans is equally pleased to have got his man, saying; “He should get more goals and I’m confident he’ll score some with us, but it’s no secret that when he plays the striker next to him gets 20 to 30 goals a season. That’s because Kayode creates so many chances and terrorises defences. He’ll bring a real presence to our team.”
