It's not a quick fix, it's a long fix - Tony

It's the dreaded vote of confidence some may say, but chairman Tony Stewart again publicly backs his manager to turn things around.

The Millers are looking to overturn their seven game winless run and stop a rot of five defeats on the trot against Shrewsbury tomorrow, and after Stewart backed his manager during the week to address the problems, he's again confirmed Andy Scott has his support.

He told the Advertiser: "Andy Scott has my total support. I think in his short time he and his staff have worked endless hours and it deserves results. They've developed a better training regime to get the guys fit and they're now having to work on their mental side, but let's not forget it's a new team and it's still developing.

"I would be amazed if the effort going in doesn't get results and while we would all like that sooner rather than later, let's be patient and get behind the manager, the staff and his players and give them encouragement. This is not a quick fix, it's a long fix."

Stewart remains convinced the team can get back to its early season form. He added: "For some reason we have not had the rub of the green but the potential is there and we saw glimpses of that in the first few games, particularly when we played really well to beat Gillingham 3-0.

"Good players do not become bad players overnight. The goal is still promotion: nothing has changed on that score. I believe that is possible and so does Andy."
