I'll do the spade work if Alfie gets the goals - Popey

Forward Tom Pope talks about his partnership with Adam Le Fondre ahead of tonights game with Bradford, and says he doesn't mind playing second fiddle in the scoring charts. Pope has one goal since his return to the first team after injury, and completed his first 90 minutes against Chesterfield at the weekend. The pair line up against Bradford tonight with Pope saying he doesn't mind Alf taking the glory in the goals column, or if he himself gets criticised at times. He told the clubs website: "I think we have always had a decent partnership, People have perhaps slated me for not scoring enough goals but at the end of the day if one of you is scoring 30 odd goals and the other is scoring five, like I did last season, then obviously we are still getting 36, 37 goals a season between us."If we were to score 18 goals each then people would be saying what a great partnership we have but because he is scoring 30 odd and I'm not scoring many, people might start to criticise. I know Alfie likes playing with me and I enjoy playing with him. I definitely don't mind doing his spade work as long as we are getting three points and more importantly we are in the top three come the end of the season."Popey added: "I've said before that I think we have got one of the best sides in the league on paper and if not the best definitely in the top three. Once everybody is back fit I think we will be in the promotion places come the end of the season."Everyone is just coming back from injury, Ryan Taylor is on the brink now and everyone else is pretty much ready. So I think once we get that competition for places and players looking over their shoulders, knowing that a bad showing would see them drop out the side. It is only going to improve the performances of the team as a whole."Welcome to MillersMadHere's our LATEST Messageboard topics MillersMAD are proud sponsors of Miller Bear's home kit
