I need to score more goals - Schofield

Talking to the Star, midfielder Danny Schofield admits that he should be on the scoresheet more often, and is looking to improve.

“I am trying to improve my goal return,” he said. “I am disappointed I have not scored more but it has not really come together at Rotherham.

“This New Year, I might be doing a bit more shooting practice to try and rectify it. We have got a good squad but when you’ve got injuries you’ve got to fill in. Danny Harrison was injured so I had to move into the middle on Monday. You have to adapt quickly and I think I am getting more used to that position now rather than being wide.

“I don’t care where I play as long as I am in the team. I think a lot of players who get to 30 do change positions. I enjoy playing in the middle or out wide.

“You have to be a bit more disciplined in the middle. If a team is playing three in the middle, like a lot of teams have been doing against us lately, you have got to keep your shape and try to protect the back four. You have more freedom if you play out wide.

“I feel when I have played in the centre I have had to focus more on my defensive duties so I have not got forward as much",  Danny added.
