I hope Millers go up - Former skipper Ian Sharps

10 September 2010 09:53
Former captain Ian Sharps locked horns with his former team-mates last weekend and came out on top, but he's hoping we can go on and get promotion. Sharps of course left the Millers in the summer after 4 years with the Millers, he tells the 'Tiser some of the reasons why; "Wembley seems a long time ago now. It was the most disappointing day of my life. I had four great years at Rotherham and it was sad to finish like it did but I made a choice to go to Shrewsbury and at the moment it has panned out well. The season is only young and we'll see at the end whether I have made the right choice.""I was offered a couple of years at Rotherham and a couple of years here. Shrewsbury is closer to home for starters and is a chance maybe to put some roots down somewhere nearer to home. It's just that sometimes you want to do something different. I chose to go a different way.""I would love us to win the league and Rotherham to finish second. That's a big dream but I want to concentrate on what Shrewsbury can do. Rotherham can look after themselves and they looked a good side on Saturday." he added.Sharps spoke about the banter between his old teammates; "I played against them in training all the time, I know them and they know me but it is strange. As I said before, it's good to get a win against your ex-team mates. A few of the lads had a few things to say on the pitch but it's water off a duck's back."Welcome to MillersMadHere's our LATEST Messageboard topics MillersMAD are proud sponsors of Miller Bear's home kit
