Paul Hurst returns to the Millers after landing the Young People's Participation Officer job. Hursty returns to the club where he became a fixture, the Millers being Paul's only club in his playing career. Paul is currently working at Rawmarsh School as a professional support assistant, combined with his role as joint manager of Boston Utd along with fellow ex-Miller Rob Scott, he told the Advertiser how he is looking forward to the job, saying: "Sport has been a big part of my life and so has this football club. This job fitted in with everything I was looking for.""I do like working in schools though and this job will keep me involved in that," said Paul. "I'll be managing a team of coaches that are at the club already and getting out into the community and working with the soccer camps and so on. "There will be times when we go out and put sessions on but a lot of my role is to oversee the people delivering various sessions. "Maybe I can bring in one or two new ideas. We will see how it goes. I've got to work my notice at Rawmarsh and then I'll look forward to getting my teeth into the job.Paul says he is enjoying his other job as joint manager at Boston Utd: Paul admitting: "I went on record as saying management and coaching wasn't for me but I've surprised myself. I've really enjoyed it. "I want the management thing to take off and go further and eventually manage one day in the league. "I'm realistic enough to know there's a lot of people wanting to do that but I'd be silly to give it up while things are going well. "I'm a hard-working person. I proved that during my football career by doing a degree while I was playing. "It's just another case of proving that." Dale Spilby Head of community said after Pauls appointment: "As we sifted through the many applications, Paul's record spoke for itself. "He's hard-working, he's a fans' favourite and we hope he can bring the hard work and endeavour he used to show on the pitch into his new role. "He will also be a great ambassador for the football club at a time when we're playing our matches in Sheffield and training in Doncaster. "He can have a direct impact in getting kids wearing Millers' shirts again instead of those of the big clubs. "By the time we play the first match in our brand new stadium back in Rotherham, we want the place packed with a rejuvenated fan base. "Paul's role is vital in making that happen."Welcome to MillersMadHere's our LATEST Messageboard topicsMillersMAD are proud sponsors of Dale Tonges home kit.
