Gunning to stay with Millers

18 May 2010 13:32
Millers left back Gavin Gunning has been given special leave to stay with the club for the play-offs by the F.A.I. With the Football Association of Ireland Under 19 side starting a tournament in Croatia today the Millers could well have lost the services of Gunning to international duty, but the Millers Chief Operating Officer Paul Douglas explained to The Star how understanding the F.A.I were. "We spoke to the FAI and they were very reasonable about it and, to be fair, could not have been more understanding," said Douglas. "We are delighted that they took on board our point of view. Gavin, naturally, loves playing for his country, but they acknowledged what these play-offs meant to us, particularly when he has become an important member of the team."Gunning will now take his place in tomorrow night's second leg with Aldershot.Welcome to MillersMadHere's our LATEST Messageboard topics MillersMAD are proud sponsors of Dale Tonges home kit.
