"He took 45 minutes to get into it in fairness to him but he felt good and he looked good in training this week. There was a little bit of rustiness in the first half, but in the second half he looked more of a threat and was more like his old self, he had shots and a couple of good crosses so we are pleased to have him back."

Gaffer praises medical team as Evans makes return

Gareth Evans made a shock start in yesterdays draw at Macclesfield and his manager says high praise is due to the backroom team.

Evans returned from a bad ankle injury ahead of schedule and Andy Scott told the press after the 0-0 draw that much was owed to the commitment to get the winger match fit again.

"Gareth coming back and playing the time he did was a boost for us. Credit has to go to Evo and the medical team for the work they did while he was out injured.
