Lee Frecklington is looking to the stuff on the pitch over Christmas as he and the team aim to be in the top three come new-year.

Lee Frecklington's current loan deal ends on January 5th, and speaking in todays Advertiser, he's looking at getting maxium points from the 4 league games before then.

“If you look back at previous seasons, teams that do well have a good run over Christmas and that's exactly what we want to do. We have a lot of matches in a short space of time and if we can get as many points as we can it will set us up nicely for the back end of the season. We've been knocking on the door of the top three but we want to be there come the new year and stay there.” he told the Advertiser.

Lee spoke about last weekends 1-0 win at Wimbledon; “The gaffer made it plain before the Wimbledon game that if we wanted to do well, that was the sort of place we had to get a result. I don't think we played really well but we ground it out."

“We knew it was going to be a battle because of the conditions and the way they play. We managed to keep it to 0-0 at half time and the the longer the game went on, the more likely we looked like scoring. Our game plan worked in the end.”

With the Millers hoping to secure him on a permanant deal, he admitted that playing at New York is a big factor; “The ground is a big factor because no disrespect to teams like Wimbledon, you would rather play in Rotherham's stadium every week. It's a massive pull,”
