Every game's like an event - Tony

Speaking in the Yorkshire Post, chairman Tony Stewart speaks about the success of the New York Stadium

Since the Millers moved home into their new £17m state of the art stadium, they have seen a massive increase in attendances for not only games but also of field activities.

Speaking to the YP, Tony said; “It has been fantastic on every level. The players seem to relish playing there judging by us winning all three league games and not having conceded a goal."

“The fans have bought into the move as well, as has the town itself. We were expecting to have 2,000 people booked in for functions over the Christmas period but we already have up to 4,200."

“The stadium has meant that every game feels like an event. That has maybe been the biggest surprise about the stadium. I expected the Barnsley game to feel like an event as it was the opening one. And maybe the first time it was full and then the opening league game. But every match has felt like a big event and I am sure the Rochdale game will be the same. Long may that continue.” he added.
