The Millers were hoping to unveil thier 10th signing of the summer over the weekend, but the players uturn over money left the gaffer unimpressed.

Evans was so confident a deal was done he came back of holiday to finalise the deal but the un-named player, did an eleventh hour u-tuen after being offered more money elsewhere, leaving the gaffer with a sour taste.

Speaking in todays Star, Evans said; “Both myself and Paul Douglas agreed that this was unprofessional and it was not something we wanted to entertain, especially after both parties had given their words on the agreed deal. This football club will not be held to ransom and I told Paul I did not now want this player.”

“We want honest, focused and highly motivated players only.” he added.
