Speaking to the 'Tiser, Steve Evans says he was pleased with the fans backing on Tuesday night.

Evans had asked for fans patience at New York in recent weeks, and after Tuesdays frustrating game he praised them for not getting on the players backs.

“The crowd were amazing, They sucked in our equalising goal and played a massive part and to see nearly 8,000 in on a Tuesday night shows the town is backing us. The biggest compliment I can give our supporters is that I didn't hear any criticism towards our players." he told the Advertiser.

“Andy Warrington kicked it out of play a few times and there were misplaced passes but they stuck with them and only by sticking together will we be successful.” he added
