Evans is a winner - Raynor

New assistant Paul Raynor speaks to the Star and says boss Steve Evans lives and breathes football.

Raynor followed Evans from Crawley to become part of the Millers management team after spending six years alongside the new gaffer in West Sussex.

"Steve is a winner. He is passionate about football, he desperately wants to win and he drags you along with him. He is enthusiastic, he loves the game - he’s 24/7 and he talks and breathes it every minute", said the new number two.

“When he gets a player in front of him, he motivates them. Then he sells them the dream, very much like Tony Stewart sold us the project and the dream here at Rotherham United.

“He’s a passionate bloke, that’s well documented and he’s been successful everywhere he’s been. It can be a negative aswell as a positive but the players know we head and kick every ball with them, we’re vocal and we try to get the best out of them.

“We can give out a rollicking but be the first to give them a hug when we’ve won because we’re all in it together," he added.
