Evans heaps praise on 'loved' Pringle

Boss Steve Evans praises Ben Pringles enthusiasm for the game and his great start to the new season.

Speaking to the Advertiser, Evans was pleased that Pringle, frozen out by Andy Scott last season after joining from Derby, was showing what an effective player he is.

“The previous manager fell out of love with him but I love him. He knows he is playing for someone who thinks a lot about what he does on and off the pitch.

“He plays as hard in training as he does in matches; he never stops running and has a great enthusiasm for the game. You don't want to be selling your best players but as a manager you take great satisfaction from the good things the boys are doing.

“Ben was as bad as everyone else at Port Vale for the first 30 minutes but it was no coincidence that when he gets on the ball and starts playing then we start playing too," added Evans.
