Evans aims to give it everything

Steve Evans reveals he's now moved his family up north and wants his players, staff and the fans to give it everything as the club strives for success.

The boss spoke to the 'Tiser today and explained: “We can bring the success everyone craves. We can't promise we'll win every week but when we get to the standards we want, when we draw everyone will go home as if there has been a death in the family.

“That's what it was like in Sussex and that's what hopefully I'm going to bring here; where it matters every single game we play: The sooner we're back home, the better. The fans are waiting on us. I moved into a place in Rotherham this week. I'm here and I'm going to give it 24/7 and expect my players to live and breathe it as well.

“It's going to be one hell of a ride next year because we're going to be significantly better, but that doesn't mean the other teams won't be.”

He adds: “We want training to be almost like a match situation where it's sharp and it's intense. A few of the lads have said they've never worked as hard in the week but that's just the start.

"It's going to get harder because we want to be the fittest team in League Two next year if we are there. And if you have ability too and you work harder than the opposition, it won't be a surprise if most weeks you win a football match.”
