As we first reported on MillersMAD earlier this week, The 33 year-old 6ft 4inch centre back, who was under Evans' management at Crawley last season and was involved in the infamous brawl at Bradford City, is in discussions with the club and those talks are ongoing.
The Jamaican international, who has 67 Caps, once commanded a £3m transfer fee and lists Preston, Sheffield United, Derby and Crystal Palace amongst his former clubs.
Assistant manager Paul Raynor confirmed at Thursdays press conference that the Millers are confident in securing his signature, although other clubs are also interested.
Meanwhile the club has fielded enquiries for skipper Ian Sharps and striker Kayode Odejayi.
