Cressy ready to settle injury nightmare

Ryan Cresswell speaks to the Advertiser and says he prays his injury jinx is well and truly overwith.

Cressy has been out more times than he's pulled on a red shirt in the last few months and that's majorly frustrating for a born and bred Miller.

He expained: “The injuries have been a shame. I shattered my collar bone and ruptured an ankle ligament; there's not many players that do that. Some players don't get one of those in a career yet I've had two in six months.

“The first couple of months were frustrating but the last couple, since the middle of December, I've been training with the lads and managed to get a couple of reserve games in. The injuries have been bad luck but I've put all that behind me now. The hard work on the training ground looks to be paying off and it was good to get back in the fold on Saturday.

“I feel like I'm getting back to fitness and obviously minutes like Saturday's at Burton will help me. Hopefully I'll be knocking on his door soon asking for a starting berth.”

Cressy added: “There are four centre-halves here and we all know each other inside out. We're all willing to play together and we can all click and have an understanding. From my point of view, once you've got into your stride there's no stopping you and hopefully I can do that now from now until the end of the season.

"It's a matter of getting points for Rotherham United to back up to where we want to be.”
