Heritage Project co-ordinator Bill Cooper has ben assigned the task of working with the community to rekindle memories of the Millers former home.

Cooper has been employed by the club following the recent announcement that the Millers' have secured £50,000 of funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to deliver a new scheme looking at the history of Millmoor.

Bill, a scriptwriter, poet and football history anorak will work with the clubs community trust. He said to the Advertiser; “I'm really looking forward to working with local people and schools on this exciting project. As well as capturing people's personal memories of the ground and club during the period from 1907 to 2008 it will be a great opportunity to involve younger people in capturing and sharing this club's proud history.”

The 'Memories of Millmoor project' will produce learning resources including a CD of old songs and chants, along with a book of nostalgic stories and photographs and will be deposited in the Rotherham Library Archives.
