Some fans are losing patience with manager Scott and also the teams inconsistent displays, with a few boos heard at half time and at the final whistle in last weekends 2-1 defeat to Swindon Town
But Revell told The Star that the criticism of the gaffer isn't warranted and the players owe it to him to start getting results.
“I don’t think the fans booing was harsh at all. At the end of the day, people come and pay good money to come and watch us play. The fans are desperate for the team to do well and so are we.
“We owe the manager a good performance against Port Vale. We have got some good management staff at the club and they prepare us thoroughly for every single game but as soon as we go over the white line, it is nothing to do with the gaffer. It is down to us then.
“The manager can only do so much. He trains us during the week and when we go out on the pitch we try to enforce his beliefs and what he wants us to do but we have not done that enough this year."
Revell added: “There will be a lot of people doubting us so it is down to us to prove to the people who pay their money to come and support us that we have the fight and desire to win.
“We felt Swindon were there for the taking. They only had two shots in the first half and scored both of them. We were poor in the first half against Bradford as well so we know we need to go out and put a big performance in on Saturday.
“We have not got a very good record against the top teams but I think the only one we deserved to lose was Southend who gave us an absolute hammering.“It is frustrating because we all want to do well.
"We have all got this dream that we want to be in League One for the new stadium and I still believe we have got a good enough squad to go up. I think we have the team but the problem is we are not showing it.”
