Ani set for Millers talks

Rotherham will hold talks with Nigerian trialist Jeremiah Ani after he impressed during Saturday's 2-1 win over Tamworth. The striker has been training with the Millers all week and played 45 minutes of their final friendly against the Blue Square Premier outfit. With strikers Ryan Taylor and Tom Pope both set to miss the first few weeks of the season with foot injuries, boss Ronnie Moore is keen to bolster his attacking options and is hopeful of signing Ani. "He has come in and trained well and played on Wednesday with the kids at Stocksbridge and changed the game," Moore told the club's official website. "He had the opportunity to go to Plymouth last year but the manager at the time Paul Mariner left the club. He has done a pre-season at Notts County and after we sent the circular around saying we need a striker, they recommended him. "We now have to wait and see what happens because we don't know what he wants and what length of contract he is looking for. We will have a chat with his agent and see what happens."
