Alfie wraps up Player of the Month award

As already mentioned on our messageboards, Adam Le Fondre has been named npower League Two player of the onth for August. Alfie bagged five goals for himself in the month, including four of those in one game in the 6-4 win over Cheltenham Town.He beat off competition from Wesley Thomas (Cheltenham Town), Ian Dunbavin (Accrington Stanley) and Mark Ellis (Torquay United). Peter Beagrie, member of the npower Football League Player of the Month panel commented: "Le Fondre has a fantastic goal scoring record and is a natural finisher. He has many great qualities, fantastic movement, alertness in the box, coolness in one on one situations and is also a great team player. He has been the focal point in Rotherham's great start to the season." Mark Clemmett, BBC Football League Show pundit and npower Football League panel member remarked: "Le Fondre is persistent and consistent." Le Fondre himself added: "It's great to win the npower League 2 Player of the Month award, it's full testament to the team's performance and myself.
