Ross chairman to stand down

Dave Siegel is to quit as chairman of Scottish Cup finalists Ross County.

He has confirmed he will step down from the post at the end of the month.

He told BBC Scotland: "I've had a wonderful time. I wouldn't have missed the ride for anything, it's been terrific. But the demands on a chairman are very high. We played 50 games this season and there's a lot of work behind the scenes, which was very time consuming. It was eating into my own business time and into my personal time, good quality family time."

The Irn-Bru First Division club dumped Hibernian and Celtic out of the Active Nation Scottish Cup, before losing to Dundee United in last Saturday's final at Hampden.

Siegel added: "Although we didn't win the cup, I think we won the hearts and minds of everybody in the Highlands and Scotland and probably beyond."
