McMenamin wins it for County

Colin McMenamin was the matchwinner for Ross County as his 13th goal of the season earned the league leaders a 1-0 win at Partick.

The Staggies almost went behind in the 11th minute when Sean Welsh's shot across goal went narrowly wide.

Chris Erskine then tested visiting goalkeeper Michael Fraser with a free-kick from the edge of the area after 33 minutes.

Derek Adams' side, who are unbeaten since the second game of the season, took the lead against the run of play moments before half-time when Paul Lawson's corner was forced home from close range by McMenamin.

Partick's best chance of the second half fell to substitute Christie Elliot, who missed the opportunity to equalise from Erskine's 67th-minute corner with a close-range header.

The Jags are now without a win in nine meetings between the two sides.
