Dreams come true for trio

Gary Miller, Scott Boyd and Martin Scott would dream about one day playing in an Active Nation Scottish Cup final when they first met as youngsters at Livingston.

They never could have imagined all three of them would be running out together at Hampden with the chance of lifting Scottish football's most famous trophy. But that is exactly what will happen on Saturday when Ross County take on Dundee United.

"We just have a laugh about it, really," full-back Miller told Press Association Sport.

"When you start your career with a few lads, you never really think that later down the line you're going to be back together again, at a different team.

"We've been together since we were young lads, like 14."

The trio have been virtually inseparable since Miller became the last of them to leave Livi just under a year ago.

"'Jimmy' (Martin Scott) came here first, then me and Scott came," said the 23-year-old, who was on loan at County two years ago before returning for good last summer.

"I keep reminding Jimmy that I got him his move because I passed his number on. He's still not thanked me for that! I stay quite near Scott, and me and him travel in every day.

"We've all been really close for the whole time. Any time we go out, we're all there and we do really know each other.

"It helps you settle a bit quicker as well, knowing somebody. So that's been great for us."
