Rostov go top in Russia

Rostov went top of the Russian Premier League following a dramatic come-from-behind 2-1 win over Terek Grozny on Monday.

A double by forward Artem Dzyuba, on loan from Spartak Moscow, lifted the hosts to the top of the league due to Sunday's season-opening matches all ending in draws.

After a goalless first half, Terek took the lead in the 71st minute through Brazilian striker Ailton Almeida, who scored from the spot after he was fouled in the area.

Rostov pulled level a minute from time from another precise spotkick by Dzyuda, who was himself fouled.

Dzyuba cemented his status as the hero of the hour when he fired home Rostov's injury time winner following a cross from Jano Ananidze, who also joined from Spartak this summer.

"I was a bit nervous preparing for this match, my first match in the new team," Dzyuba said. "I'm really excited with my debut in Rostov. It was a great win, which was the result of the entire team's work."
