We did not turn up - Dale boss

26 March 2009 11:10
Two goals from Jack Lester and a late third from Gregor Robertson condemned second-placed Dale to an emphatic defeat and put a dent in their automatic promotion hopes. Hill said: "We didn't turn up and I can't explain why. It was a non-performance and we were lucky to go in only 1-0 down at half-time. "Chesterfield thoroughly deserved to win and they were the better side but I am bemused by the way we played. We made mistakes and when you are up against players like Jack Lester you just can't afford to make mistakes. "On this performance Chesterfield are genuine contenders but that was nowhere near the sort of performance we expect from our team. "I expected a lot more and to be honest it has stunned me because I didn't see this coming. I'm looking for a favourable response from the players now, we are still second so no ground has been lost but nothing has been gained."
